The Sugar Land Garden Club works actively to be a contributing member of the Sugar Land and Fort Bend County communities.  Our efforts include:

Butterfly Garden at the Sugar Land Branch Library (550 Eldridge).  This garden was installed for the enjoyment of the library patrons.  Monthly workdays keep it looking nice and give us a chance to appreciate the butterflies that make it their home.

Adopt-A-Spot Liberty Garden at Oyster Creek Park: SLGC adopted the City of Sugar Land’s Liberty Garden at Oyster Creek Park for the purpose of beautification and litter abatement.  Monthly workdays are held.

Garden Therapy Work Days at the Brookwood Community.  Twice each  year, members of the club spend a day working with some of the Brookwood residents.   It's a day to appreciate the joys of life while being engaged in gardening activities.

Membership in Keep Sugar Land Beautiful.  We are members of KSLB - working in partnership on the goals of litter reduction, conservation and beautification.

Arbor Day Plantings.  Every year, in celebration of Arbor Day, the Sugar Land Garden Club donates a tree to be planted in a public location in the Sugar Land area.  Over the past few years, plantings have included Live Oaks, Shumard Oaks, Magnolias, and Vitex trees.  In addition, SLGC partners with Keep Sugar Land Beautiful and the Texas Forest Service with the annual Arbor Day Poster Contest among local school children.

Tool Kits to Habitat for Humanity.  Gardening tool kits  are donated to new homeowners of Fort Bend County Habitat homes.
