“Bamboo That Knows Its Place”

Michele Sizemore and Jeff Carron

of the Bamboo Group at Mercer Arboretum

Sugar Land Branch Library -- Meeting Room

550 Eldridge Rd. Sugar Land, TX 77478

Are you familiar with “invade and conquer” bamboo? Luckily, there is a whole world of bamboo that knows its place and will not “bamboozle” your other plants and grass. Michele Sizemore and Jeff Carron of the Bamboo Group at Mercer Arboretum will teach us about non-invasive varieties (clumpers) that are blue, black, yellow, green, variegated, giant, and dwarf. They will also cover uses of bamboo in our landscapes (including screening) and varieties that are cold hardy in our area.

The public is invited to attend the presentation, to view the display board near the checkout desk with information about bamboo.
